Psychoanalysis
In psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, the basic attitude of the therapist is the prerequisite for making forgotten life experiences accessible again, since they still determine our experience and behavior today.
That’s a long, sometimes unsettling process. In order to be able to engage in this process as a patient, it is important to fit with the therapist. This means that psychotherapy is more effective the better we can work together.
The goal of the therapist is to accompany a patient in such a way that current experiences are no longer made in the light of negative past experiences. This includes, among other things, being able to better advocate for one’s own interests and needs. This results in a better self-esteem, greater emotional stability, and a strengthened and increased relationship skills.
An indication for psychoanalysis is f.e. the feeling of constantly suffering from oneself or getting into the same problematic relationship constellations over and over again.
I work in different settings. We will discuss which setting is suitable for you in an initial consultation.
„Classic“ setting
Patients lie down, the therapist sits behind them, out of sight.
Setting: 3-4 x/week
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Patient and therapist sit facing each other in eye contact.
Setting: 2 x/week.
Group psychoanalysis
The group consists of about 7-9 participants; the psychoanalytic rule of free association applies, which means that the group members talk freely to each other. The group leader encourages the expression of fantasies and feelings and interprets the dynamics in the group.
Setting: 1 x/week.
